Coalition of Sex Workers Rights Movement (COSWRIM) is legally registered as Organization for a Better Tomorrow of Equal Rights, a Nigerian advocacy movement of sex workers-led organizations and small groups that started in 2021. This coalition accommodates all diversity of sex workers (male, female, and LGBTIQ sex workers) born out of the need for an all-inclusive, functional, and viable movement of sex workers for the development and enjoyment of fundamental human rights in our communities.

Program Officer

Position: Program Officer

Are you passionate about advancing the rights of marginalized communities and contributing to impactful social change? The Organization for a Better Tomorrow of Equal Rights (COSWRIM), a diverse sex worker-led network, seeks a dedicated and dynamic Program Officer to join our team in Abuja.

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and results-driven Program Officer to join our team in Abuja. The Program Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring programs that align with the organization’s mission and goals. This role requires a proactive individual with strong program management skills, excellent stakeholder engagement abilities, and a commitment to advancing gender equality and sexual reproductive health initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in program management, advocacy, or community engagement.
  • Strong understanding of human rights, sexual and reproductive health, and issues affecting sex workers in their diversity.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with sex worker-led organizations or marginalized communities is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and digital collaboration tools.
  • Must be based in Abuja and willing to travel within Nigeria as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and monitor programs aimed at advancing the rights and well-being of sex workers in line with COSWRIM’s strategic objectives.
  • Coordinate advocacy campaigns and build partnerships with stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and donor partners.
  • Prepare high-quality program reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Organize and facilitate capacity-building workshops, community engagement sessions, and training activities.
  • Ensure compliance with project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Represent COSWRIM at meetings, conferences, and other relevant forums.
  • Support the documentation of best practices, lessons learned, and success stories.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team in Abuja. The Finance Officer will play a key role in managing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and compliance with financial regulations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the NGO sector.
  • Proficiency in financial management software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the organization.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, budgets, and financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, donor requirements, and local laws.
  • Monitor cash flow, manage bank accounts, and reconcile financial transactions.
  • Support audits by preparing and providing necessary documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure proper documentation.
  • Collaborate with program teams to develop and monitor budgets for projects.
  • Provide regular financial analysis and recommendations to management.
